Plant Family: Marantaceae
Native Region: Tropical Americas (specifically Brazil for similar Calatheas)

Brief Description
Calathea 'Maui Queen' is a stunning cultivar known for its large, elongated, paddle-shaped leaves. The foliage features an intricate pattern of dark green, irregular bands and splotches against a lighter green background, especially along the midrib and veins, creating a feather-like or peacock-tail appearance. The undersides of the leaves are typically a rich purple or burgundy color. Its architectural foliage makes it a popular ornamental houseplant.
Care Instructions
Calathea 'Maui Queen' thrives in high humidity and indirect light. It prefers consistently moist soil, but not waterlogged, so allow the top inch to dry out between waterings. Use distilled or filtered water as it can be sensitive to chemicals in tap water. Provide temperatures between 65-80°F (18-27°C). Fertilize monthly during the growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted liquid fertilizer. Protect from drafts and sudden temperature changes.
