Jade Plant
Scientific Name: Crassula ovata
Plant Family: Crassulaceae
Native Region: South Africa and Mozambique

Brief Description
The Jade Plant (Crassula ovata) is a popular succulent plant characterized by its thick, fleshy, obovate-shaped leaves that are typically bright green, sometimes with a reddish tint along the edges when exposed to ample sunlight. Its stems are thick and woody, giving it a tree-like appearance as it matures. It can grow to be quite large, resembling a miniature tree or shrub.
Care Instructions
Jade plants are relatively easy to care for. They thrive in bright light, ideally 4-6 hours of direct sun per day, but can tolerate some indirect light. Use well-draining soil, such as a succulent or cactus mix. Water thoroughly when the top inch or two of soil is dry, then allow the soil to dry out completely before watering again to prevent root rot. They are sensitive to overwatering. Fertilize sparingly during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength. Protect from frost as they are not cold-hardy.
