Fatsia

Brief Description

Fatsia japonica is an evergreen shrub with large, glossy, deeply lobed leaves that resemble fingers, giving it a tropical appearance. The leaves are typically dark green, but some cultivars may have variegated foliage. It produces clusters of small white flowers in the autumn, followed by small black berries.

Care Instructions

Fatsia japonica prefers partial to full shade and moist, well-draining soil rich in organic matter. It is relatively drought-tolerant once established but benefits from regular watering during dry periods. Protect from strong winds and harsh winter conditions in colder climates. Minimal pruning is required, mainly to remove dead or damaged leaves or to maintain shape.
