Brief Description

A tall, annual grass characterized by drooping, open panicles of spikelets with long, bent awns and hairy origins. It resembles common cultivated oats but is typically more slender and prone to seed shattering.

Care Instructions

This is often considered a weed and requires little to no care. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soils. In a garden setting, it needs regular rainfall or watering during its spring growth phase but can tolerate drought as it matures and dries out toward summer.
