Virginia Buttonweed

Brief Description

Virginia Buttonweed is a low-growing, mat-forming perennial weed. Its leaves are typically opposite, lance-shaped to oval, and have prominent veins. It produces small, white, star-shaped flowers with four petals, often found in the leaf axils.

Care Instructions

This is a tenacious weed that is difficult to control. For small infestations, hand-pulling is effective, ensuring all taproots are removed. For larger areas, pre-emergent herbicides can be used in spring and fall, or post-emergent herbicides on actively growing plants.
