Coleus
Scientific Name: Plectranthus scutellarioides (formerly Coleus blumei)
Plant Family: Lamiaceae (Mint family)
Native Region: Southeast Asia and Malaysia

Brief Description
Coleus typically features brightly colored, ornamental foliage. The plant in the image appears to be a variegated variety, possibly 'Wizard Golden' or a similar type, with light green (almost cream/yellow) centers and darker green margins. The leaves are ovate with serrated edges, and the stems are purplish-red. The plant currently shows some signs of stress, possibly from overwatering, underwatering, or improper light, indicated by the browning and wilting portions of the leaves.
Care Instructions
Coleus prefer bright, indirect light; direct sun can scorch leaves, while too little light can reduce color intensity. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings. Use a well-draining potting mix. Pinch back the growing tips regularly to encourage bushier growth and prevent flowering, which can diminish foliage quality. Protect from cold temperatures as they are sensitive to frost. Fertilize lightly during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced liquid fertilizer.
