This cactus thrives in full sun and well-draining soil, preferably a sandy or gravelly mix. It is drought-tolerant and requires minimal watering, especially during its dormant winter period. Water thoroughly but infrequently, allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings. Protect from frost. Fertilize sparingly during the growing season with a diluted cactus fertilizer.
