Turkey Tail
Scientific Name: Trametes versicolor
Plant Family: Polyporaceae
Native Region: Cosmopolitan (found worldwide)

Brief Description
Turkey Tail is a common bracket fungus characterized by its multi-colored, concentric zones of brown, gray, black, white, and tan, resembling a turkey's tail. The caps are velvety or finely hairy and typically fan-shaped or shelf-like, growing in overlapping clusters on dead wood.
Care Instructions
This is a wild fungus that grows on decaying wood in forests. It is not typically cultivated as a garden plant, but rather harvested sustainably from its natural habitat. For optimal growth in its natural environment, it requires damp, shaded conditions and dead deciduous wood (logs, stumps, branches) to decompose.
Medicinal Value
