A crust fungus that forms fan-shaped, shelf-like brackets. It typically displays concentric zones of various colors ranging from orange to brown, often with a wavy or ruffled margin. Unlike true turkey tails, the underside is smooth and lacks visible pores.

This is a wild fungus that grows saprobically on dead hardwood logs and stumps. It does not require care; however, if found in a garden, it indicates the presence of decomposing wood material and high moisture levels.
