Blue Mistflower
Scientific Name: Conoclinium coelestinum
Plant Family: Asteraceae
Native Region: Eastern and central United States

Brief Description
Blue Mistflower is a herbaceous perennial that grows to about 1-3 feet tall. It features attractive fluffy clusters of small, pale blue to lavender flowers, which typically bloom from late summer to fall. The leaves are ovate to triangular, toothed, and opposite along the stems.
Care Instructions
Blue Mistflower prefers full sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained soils. It is quite adaptable and can tolerate a range of soil types, including clay. It can spread aggressively through rhizomes, so it's best to plant it where its spread can be controlled, or in a naturalized setting. Deadheading can encourage more blooms, but it's not strictly necessary. It is generally pest and disease resistant.
