Clivia miniata
Scientific Name: Clivia miniata
Plant Family: Amaryllidaceae
Native Region: South Africa

Brief Description
Clivia miniata, also known as the Kaffir Lily or Bush Lily, is a stemless, evergreen perennial herb grown for its beautiful trumpet-shaped flowers and attractive strappy leaves. The leaves are dark green, arching, and strap-like, growing in an opposite fan shape from a fleshy underground rhizome. The flowers typically appear in clusters of bright orange, red, or yellow atop a sturdy stalk.
Care Instructions
Clivia miniata thrives in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves. Use a well-draining potting mix and allow the top inch or two of soil to dry out between waterings. Reduce watering in winter. They prefer temperatures between 60-75°F (15-24°C). Fertilize sparingly during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Repot only when root-bound, as they prefer to be slightly crowded. Ensure good air circulation to prevent fungal issues.
