A trailing or creeping cactus with long, cylindrical stems that can grow up to 3 to 6 feet long. The stems are covered in fine, hair-like spines (glochids) that appear golden or reddish-brown, and it produces large, vibrant pinkish-red tubular flowers in spring.

Requires bright, indirect sunlight or some direct morning sun. Use well-draining cactus soil and a pot with drainage holes. Water thoroughly when the top inch of soil is dry, but reduce watering significantly during the winter resting period. Prefers warm temperatures and moderate humidity.
