Spider Plant
Chlorophytum comosum
The Spider Plant is characterized by its long, arching, strap-like leaves, typically variegated with a central white or yellow stripe against a green background, or green edges with a white center. It produces small white flowers on long stalks, which then develop into 'plantlets' or 'spiderettes' that dangle from the mother plant.

Spider Plants are relatively easy to care for. They prefer bright, indirect light but can tolerate lower light conditions. Water thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry, allowing excess water to drain. Avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot. High humidity is appreciated but not essential. Fertilize every 2-4 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Repot when the plant becomes root-bound, usually every 1-2 years. Brown tips on leaves can indicate fluoride in water or inconsistent watering.
