String of Pearls
Scientific Name: Senecio rowleyanus
Plant Family: Asteraceae (Daisy family)
Native Region: Southwest Africa

Brief Description
String of Pearls is a unique succulent characterized by its spherical, pea-shaped leaves that grow along trailing stems. The plant creates a beautiful cascading effect, with the 'pearls' being plump and green, acting as water storage. Its stems can grow several feet long, making it an excellent choice for hanging baskets.
Care Instructions
Light: Bright, indirect light. Avoid direct harsh sun which can scorch the pearls. Water: Water thoroughly when the top two inches of soil are dry. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings to prevent root rot. Less water is needed in winter. Soil: Use a well-draining succulent or cactus potting mix. Temperature: Prefers average room temperatures (65-80°F or 18-27°C). Protect from frost. Humidity: Average household humidity is fine. Feeding: Fertilize sparingly during the growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted succulent fertilizer. Pruning: Trim to maintain shape or propagate. Propagation: Easily propagated from stem cuttings.
