Goldenrod
Scientific Name: Solidago (genus)
Plant Family: Asteraceae (Daisy family)
Native Region: The genus Solidago, which includes Goldenrods, is primarily native to North America, with a few species found in South America and Eurasia. They are widespread across various habitats, including prairies, fields, roadsides, and open woodlands.

Brief Description
Goldenrod is characterized by its tall, sturdy stems topped with dense clusters of small, bright yellow flowers, typically blooming in late summer and early autumn. The leaves are generally lance-shaped and can be smooth or slightly hairy, arranged alternately along the stem. Its overall appearance is often bushy and upright.
Care Instructions
Goldenrod is a very low-maintenance plant. It thrives in full sun but can tolerate partial shade. It is adaptable to a variety of soil types, including poor soils, as long as there is good drainage. Once established, it is drought-tolerant and generally doesn't require fertilization. It can spread aggressively by rhizomes and self-seeding, so consider planting it in areas where its spread can be managed or use a cultivar that is less aggressive.
