Marigolds are generally easy to grow. They prefer full sun (at least 6 hours daily) and well-draining soil. Water regularly, especially during dry periods, but avoid overwatering. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage more flowering. They are tolerant of various soil types but thrive in moderately fertile soil. Fertilizing is usually not necessary unless the soil is very poor.
