Sedum 'Autumn Joy' (Hylotelephium spectabile 'Autumn Joy') is a popular perennial succulent known for its sturdy, upright stems bearing fleshy, glaucous green leaves. In late summer/early fall, it produces large, flattened flower heads that start as broccoli-like greenish-pink buds, gradually turning rich pink, then reddish-bronze, and finally deep russet or coppery shades as they mature and dry through winter.

Sedum 'Autumn Joy' is incredibly low-maintenance. It thrives in full sun (at least 6 hours of direct sunlight) and well-draining soil. It is drought-tolerant once established and prefers not to be overwatered; let the soil dry out completely between waterings. It doesn't require rich soil and can even do well in poor or sandy conditions. Fertilization is generally not needed. Cut back the spent flower stalks in late winter or early spring just before new growth emerges.
